Content Ideas For Your Personal Statement

Our Summer Schools are designed to provide a taster of an array of exciting university level topics, that stretch students beyond what they may study at school. Each of the sessions provide fantastic content ideas for the personal statement.

The sessions hosts will suggest further reading and questions to think about with each masterclass and encourage students to make connections between concepts, themes and theorists. This is a key attribute that admissions tutors are looking for, and is critical for success at Oxford and Cambridge.

The Summer School sessions are highly discursive (emulating an Oxbridge tutorial or supervision), designed to encourage an open debate of ideas and critical discussion/ problem solving. Students will gain confidence in vocalising their ideas and talking through their logical thinking process, a key skill Oxbridge admissions tutors are looking for.

Most crucially, each course is hosted by two Oxbridge tutors in the subject. All of our Summer School hosts are experienced Oxbridge interview tutors and will often pose interview style questions to the group, offering tips and strategies for devising a strong, well-structured answer.
