The TARA (Thinking and Reasoning Assessment), which replaces the TSA (Thinking Skills Assessment) in the 2026 admissions cycle, is a fast-paced examination that challenges students’ critical thinking and problem-solving abilities under strict time constraints. Unlike traditional subject-based tests, TARA prioritises clear, structured and efficient thinking over factual knowledge.
Designed for applicants to a range of competitive courses, TARA assesses how well students analyse arguments, interpret information, and solve problems logically. While the test is known for its difficulty, with the right strategies and techniques, it is entirely possible to excel.
Our TARA Preparation Course is carefully structured to cover all core question types students will encounter. We place particular emphasis on:
Breaking down complex arguments quickly and accurately
Avoiding common traps
Time management under pressure
Developing systematic approaches to problem-solving
Across four comprehensive sessions, students will build a robust toolkit of techniques, enabling them to approach TARA with clarity and confidence.
Our experienced Oxbridge tutors guide students through each question format in detail, ensuring they understand not only the correct answers but the reasoning methods required to perform at a high level consistently.
Dates: Classes will be held over two weekends in August/September (8 total hours):
Saturday 29th August 2026: 4–6pm (UK time)
Sunday 30th August 2026: 4–6pm (UK time)
Saturday 5th September 2026: 4–6pm (UK time)
Sunday 6th September 2026: 4–6pm (UK time)
Classes will be held online via Teams.
